DonorsChoose is a non-profit organization that helps people donate to public school teachers in need. They are looking for a passionate and skilled Video Editor & Videographer to create engaging video content that tells the stories of teachers, students, and donors.

Job Description

This position will be responsible for all aspects of video production, from planning and shooting to editing and distribution. You'll work with the marketing team to develop a video strategy and create content for various channels, with a strong focus on social media. You'll also need to manage video projects, collaborate with diverse teams, and ensure consistency and quality in all video content.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute video storytelling strategies for long-form and short-form content

• Manage video projects from start to finish (interviews, events, student content)

• Complete post-production tasks (editing, audio/music, final edits)

• Set up/take down lighting, cameras, and sound equipment (as needed)

• Collaborate with the podcast producer to record and edit episodes

• Develop a long-term strategy for engaging audiences across platforms, aligned with DonorsChoose's equity focus

• Tailor video content for specific social media channels

• Create resources and guidelines for video production

• Collaborate with marketing, content, and design teams to elevate the way DonorsChoose shares its mission

• Understand audience needs and keep content teacher- and donor-centered

Qualifications

• Passionate about DonorsChoose's mission and equity focus

• Experience in videography and editing with Adobe Creative Cloud

• Skilled in planning and executing multimedia campaigns

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Expert video editor with experience in editing high-quality content (audio, music, graphics)

• Social media savvy with an ability to adapt to platform changes

• Strong sense of aesthetics and an eye for creating dynamic content

• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to provide constructive feedback

• Bonus points for experience in motion graphics, animation, photography, or the education sector
